Haiti, located in the Caribbean, is officially known as the Republic of Haiti. Most of the population is dependent on the agriculture sector, chiefly subsistence farming. Main agricultural products are rice, cassava, yams, corn, coffee, mango, sorghum, sugarcane and plantains. Two of the most important export products of Haiti are coffee and mangoes. Haiti has deposits of mineral resources and they are bauxite, gold, copper, and calcium carbonate. Main industries of the country are sugarcane, flour, textiles, cement and light assembly. |
